About the WPC
The WPC was founded in 2013 as a cooperative effort by The Federation of European Photographers (FEP) and Professional Photographers of America (PPA). Its singular goal is to unite photographers in a spirit of friendship and cooperation. A Governing Committee has been created to conduct the ongoing affairs of the competition, also supported by UAPP (United Asian Professional Photography) and AIPP (Australian Institute of Professional Photography). The brotherhood and sisterhood of photography is a bond that transcends language, culture, and geography. That’s the foundation behind the World Photographic Cup, an one of a kind international team competition. Sure, there are lots of other competitions, but there is just one World Photographic Cup.
After several years of strong global expansion, WPC has managed to build a solid foundation in our efforts to become one of the world’s leading photographic competitions, thanks to our dedicated committee and colleagues from all over the world. Our goal remains the same as always: to continue creating friendships and uniting professional photographers world-wide. The competition 2020 (edition n.7) is now closed, with about 40 national teams registered for this edition, from 5 continents. The judging also is completed, and the finalists and best of nations authors will be announced once again at Imaging USA, the longest running photographic convention, next year in Nashville, TN, USA, on January 20th, at the end of the Grand Imaging Award Ceremony. The Ceremony will start at 7.00 pm local time (CST – Central Time Zone) and the WPC announcement will be about 7.45 pm. The event will be streamed online on the WPC page on facebook. More details will follow. As for the WPC annual winners’ awards, you can rest assured that WPC will continue to offer new exciting destinations for its amazing ceremony! After USA, France, Portugal, Japan, Australia and Norway, you will be pleased to know that this year the winners’ announcement will be in Rome, Italy, on March 23rd, 2020! registrations for the event are open on www.wpcroma2020.com
